Secret S that saves the day!
My favorite thing to do is eat healthily................. said no one ever. If you really knew me, you'd know I can inhale a double-double from In-N-Out in 3 minutes or an entire pizza in 15 minutes (if my friends don't make me share).
All jokes aside, I realize that I'm not 18 anymore and my metabolism isn't what it once was. Watching what I eat is the easiest way for me to stay fit since I also secretly hate working out. Now that you know all my secrets, I am so excited to the secret S! Since I can't eat fast food every day, I found spinach to save the day!
Once upon a time, my wonderful stepmom told me that iceberg lettuce has no nutrients in it! It's basically like eating water. I did 0 research and took her words as LAW... then stumbled onto spinach and LOVED IT! So all my recipes include it. However, if you like kale or truly love lettuce you can sub for that in the salad!
**Disclaimer: I wouldn't try lettuce in a smoothie but hey, I'm sure someone out there will try it (Just make sure you tag me so I can know if it's good or not!).
Asian Sesame Grilled Chicken Salad
- 1 bag of Organic Spinach ( Trader Joe's)
- 1 can of Mandarin oranges
- 1 red onion
- Thawed or Fresh chicken breast tenderloins
- 1 bag of pecans or walnuts
- 1 bag of craisins (Trader Joe's)
- Kraft Asian Toasted Sesame Salad Dressing
Directions: Start by preparing your chicken! I always clean mine with salt and vinegar and trim the extra fat off. Next, season the chicken with salt and pepper. You can stop there, but I always put a little garlic followed by Mrs. Dash's original blend.
Spray your grill with a non-stick spray (I'm using a mini George Foreman grill btw). Then place your breasts on until they turn white on the outside. PLEASE CUT INTO THE CENTER OF THE CHICKEN TO CHECK FOR PINK IF YOU ARE UNSURE IF IT'S READY.
Next, cube your onion and crush the nuts. Finally, layer all the remaining items in the bowl. Add your dressing and snap a pic to share before you enjoy :)
